Food Diary...for yesterday

So...yesterday could've gone better. I ended up going over in three of the four categories that I track, including calories. However, it's not as if I went over by a ton. I ate around 2200 calories yesterday, which keeps me under for the week as a whole. Part of the problem was that my wife made a delicious pork roast in the crock pot, using Tastefully Simple's Bayou Bourbon Glaze. It was great, and I ended up having two helpings.

Everyone seemed to like it, and we'll have to see how it does as leftovers, as we had quite a bit left, even though everyone seemed to enjoy it, and had multiple portions.

I feel good, and I'm really happy that I'm making this effort again. Next week, I'll start going back to the gym. I haven't done it as of yet, due to the fact that I've had to work overtime this week. I'll be in there hoopin' it up in the gym before you know it.

Addendum...

I failed to point out last night that the Viva Alfredo sauce from Tastefully Simple is delicious.

As are the new Black Jack Tacos from Taco Bell.

Too much fat...

As the title of this post suggests, I went over on my fat allotment for the day. The range is supposed to be 39-68 grams/day, and I ended up at 79, thanks to lunch at Taco Bell and the judicious application of heavy whipping cream in tonight's dinner, which was macaroni with Tastefully Simple's Viva Alfredo sauce*.

However, I did stay within or below my goal ranges for everything else.

Calories: 1531
Carbs: 135 (a little below, but I'll make up for it eventually)
Protein: 67

Plus, I was able to avoid the soda bug by having unsweetened ice tea at lunch...so, there ya go.

Good night everyone. Be well.

Food diary - 11/2/09

Okay...so at the end of day 1(b), here were the eating results.

Breakfast - 1 protein shake: approx. 250 calories.

I did, unfortunately, have a soda at about 10:00, which is 250 empty calories.

Lunch - 1 protein shake: approx. 250 calories.

Dinner - I had KFC original recipe fried chicken for dinner, but only had two pieces (I normally have 3), and didn't have any sides, except a biscuit (I usually have potato wedges with the biscuit).  In addition, I ate the biscuit dry, with no butter.  And I was a good little boy and had water to drink.  :-)  Dinner totaled about 700 calories, which isn't bad...and even left me a little room to eat a couple of Snickers Minis that were left over from Halloween.

Overall, the break down* is as follows:

Category            Goal Range             Today's Total

Calories               1500-1850                        1498

Carbs                   197-284                          180

Fat                       39-68                           49

Protein                  60-153                           83

So...not a bad day.  Now it's just a matter of taking this succes and building on it.  Which I WILL do.

*Total come from the calculator on Sparkpeople.com

Back at it!

Wow...it's been over 2 months since my last post. In that time, weight loss has been what you might call a miserable failure. I actually weigh a little more than when I started this blog, (I think I should probably rename it to 43 or so pounds and a Jackass). In that time, my snoring has gotten, as I'm sure my wife will attest, worse. I've also felt more run down than usual, and I've had a harder time getting up in the morning than usual.

And so...starting today, I'm back at it.

As of today, November 2, 2009, I'll be starting to track my exercise and diet with Sparkpeople.com again.

I'll also be using the blog as a food/exercise diary of sorts.

In that vein...so far today (as of 6:19 AM MST) I've had 2 glasses of water and I'm in the middle of my first protein shake for the day.

Have a good day everyone.
